Gatehouse/Wall Survey 2023

Our Gatehouse suffered considerable damage during Hurricane Ian. The entry to our community is our “Welcome Home” and “Welcome” to visitors.  

Several owners have suggested with the new RFID scanner feature we might want to add a 2nd entry lane for Vendors.  We’ve researched that option and unfortunately we do not have the necessary width requirement necessary to add a 2nd lane with a gate for our entry.

Two different suggestions are being considered by the Board and were discussed at the January 7, 2023 Board of Directors meeting.  We want your opinion on how to restore the beauty of our entry.  We do not have cost estimates for these 2 options yet.

1. Restructure the current Gatehouse possibly downsizing to accommodate repairs and architecturally similar to the Townhomes.
2. Remove the Gate House and replace it with an attractive designer wall - simple but elegant - between the 2 gates depicting a sign for Jonathan Harbour. All equipment can be protected from the environment within the storage area in the columns.

Both options will include improved landscaping, etc.  Prior to Hurricane Ian we were in the process of revising the current landscaping in front of the Gate House due to the deterioration of the flower boxes.
